Default 1995 EFI 502 rattle noise at idle

i have a 1995 Gen VI THAT HAS NOT ran in 4 years and when fired up today it started a rattling noise which is very hard to pin point. when we idled her up the noise went away.... any suggestions?

internal exhaust flappers can be noisy at idle.

What he said x2 my gen v 502 sounds just like that. That noise will get your attention fast.

I have one way of finding your rattle using two different tools. Go to your local pharmacy and buy a stithoscope or use the longest screwdriver you have. While holding it to you ear go around holding against things like exuast pipes, alternators, mount brackets etc. etc. You can tell if you are getting close by the sound and you will know when you are on it. Good Luck

quiky stethoscope. piece of 3/8.s fuel line stuck in 1 ear. hold other end at suspected noise source. very directional. when hose is pointing straight at something, gets real loud.

ok thanks guys... i think we've narrowed it down... to either the yoke on the outdrive
or the giimble bearing
