Default Raisin River / Lake Erie ??

I am planning on going to Clamdiggers this evening. Never been there by boat. My question is.....

I will be heading there from the north and wanted to know can I run the shoreline till I get to the Raisin river? Or should I stay way out in the lake and then make a direct shot in? I have the coordinates for the river in my GPS. Ideally I would like to exit the trenton channel and continue south but are there shallow areas I need to be aware or??

Water is good. I cut Stony Point a half mile or so out. Then head straight for the river. Have fun.
