502 mpi piston and ring question..
Can anyone tell me if the gm piston # 12533507 is the same piston as the standard piston merc # 827664?? and also the ring set gm # 12524293 is same as merc # 827660??? There's quite a price difference.. I think the gm piston is aluminum forged.. thanks

a local marine repair shop has a set of hastings piston rings comin tomorrow and I'm wondering of anyone knows the specs of oem rings 827660 or what number people have ordered from hastings for their 502 mpi??
