Im trying to help out a friend, he had his 350 mercruiser built into a 383 stroker motor and I helped him fire it up tonight. The issue is a terrible hesitasition from idle to to exaltation. It seems to give a good shot of fuel from the excelrator pump.
I guess I would ask if you need different jetting or low idle jet adjustment? Any help appreciated

what carb?? start with a bigger squirter if its a holly..
