I'm getting ready to re-assemble my VD 71 series.
I have a question, in the manual it says to check the clearances at the bottom of the clutch pack, then it tells you there are certain snap rings in various sizes to help achieve this.
The clearances in the manual are .018-.053,,,,,, now is that the clearance you're supposed to have?
Because they make shims (snap rings) that size.
I'm probably overthinking this but it could read either way IMO.
Thanks in advance.

That is the clearance. Try and stay at the low end of the range.
