Default Commentary: Shore Dreams For Kids—Or All of Us?

Editing a feature rarely makes me cry, but this one did, http://speedonthewater.com/commentar...all-of-us.html.

Thank you, Rich Luhrs, for your brilliance—and your giant heart.

Boy that's what it is all about. Hats off to everyone associated with that event.

Ya can't beat that story.

Volunteers make our world go round and round and round.

Kudos to all of you.

Beautifully written Rich.

When I still lived up in NJ, I did some morning radio work. Back in the Day on the Bay days, we did some live broadcasting from the event. I was really surprised how big the event was even back then. It sounds like it's really been brought to a higher level these days, which is great. We finally had a chance to take a boat ride with a couple of the kids on a blue, twin outboard, 30'+ cat. I thought I was having a good time until I looked into the back seats. As some others in the write up mentioned, the smiles on the kids' faces (and some who used to be kids) are something I clearly remember almost 20 years later.

Great that the NJPPC has stepped up to keep this event alive and kicking.

Agreed on all counts.

Jason Johnson and I are privileged to run that story.

I have been involved as a volunteer with Shore Dreams from its first year and was even there for some of The Day on the Bay years. It is one of my favorite and most rewarding days of the year. I am truly humbled and inspired by all the participants and their families. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing the smiles on everyone's faces that day.

Thank you to Rich, Darren, Sharkey, and especially Matt for capturing the day and presenting it so beautifully.

Kudos also to all the Shore Dreams Committee members and sponsors who make it happen every year.

Hey Tom!

First, big time kudos for you volunteering year after year for Shore Dreams. People like you and Joe Nasso and Geralyn Monroe make it happen.

Second, special thanks should not be for me. I edited Rich's piece (and the edits were light), sized Tim's photos and published the story on the site. Those guys—not me—deserve all the credit.

Thumbs up

Thrilled to be a part of it....

Awesome story by Rich Luhrs. No one could have written it better as he has 1st knowledge experience with the daily challenges Darren Luhrs faces. I do not know how I missed either of them during this event.

Our first year being involved with Shore Dreams for Kids and it won't be our last.. What a Great Day... Thanks to all the hard working volunteers on the Docks and on Land.. You Guys were awesome.. The smiles on the kids faces turned a cloudy day into one of the most memorable days of my life.. Thank you once again for allowing us to be a part of such a fullfilling experience.
