Default Converting Dual engine Sonic to single engine

I would like input on the possibility, safety Of converting a dual engine boat to a single. Is this something anyone has done them self?

I am pretty good with wood working and fiberglass so should be able to handle it.

I have an 07 Sonic 28 SS that has procharged 454s. I would like to see the lighter weight and fuel savings of the boat with a single procharged, modified 454 mag.

I would go for it!!

Friend of mine runs a 30' single engine with a #6 drive.
100 mph plus!

Granted he runs big power ( Turbo ) but the turbo also gives
great realiabilty because boost is only there when you lean on it and then it settles back in after that.

Back to the discussion though, the boat handles and drives
great with just a single.

FYI, he runs a left hand drive, counters the rotation of the engine.

Very do-able though, just do your home work and work with a good glass shop, boat shop, and or rigging shop.

Develop you relationship, buy your materials from them
and get the proper insight to do it once and to do it correctly.
