Came across a guy trying to sell a 454/B1 out of his 28' cruiser. Supposedly it's in well running condition and has approximately 250 hours on it.
I've been wanting to have a spare drive laying around and plan on building an engine over the winter.
What should I expect to pay for this package if all checks out well, and is it even worth it or should I shop for a newer take out?
Also, what are the differences between an 88 Bravo 1 and a 96 B1 which I have currently?
Thanks in advance

The big difference between 96 and 98 is, no reserve bottle and aluminum wear pads. Newer drives have plasitc wear pads that can be replaced.
Also check what gear ratio it is, I bet its not 1.5
Engine is probably a cast internals 330.
I agree about $1,500 for all.
