Default Glastron carlson cvx molds

Anybody know where the molds are for the 1978-198? Era glastron Carlson cvx boats? My old man is die hard glastron Carlson and still skis behind his cvx 16 that he bought new in 1978. He was curious if the molds are still in existence.

We have a '78 CVX-20 with a Johnson 175 OB still in the family! It's the boat I started out on and is what got me in the game to begin with. Pretty cool

I almost did a CVX 16 for my latest project. I'm a fan too. When a design can be 40+ yrs old and still look good, you know they did something right.
Show these pix's to your old man and see if he recognizes the hull.
My first cuddy cabin. A 1969, 19' Glastron Carlson Conquest.
I bought and restored it after it was totaled in a fire.
Ran 80 w/a new at the time (1989) GT 200 JohnRude. 80 in '89 was flyin too. That boat would sleep four adults comfortably. Spent yrs terrorizing the inland waters of Ohio w/it and out running nasty weather on Erie. That boat did everything well.
Only seen one other one.

There are a ton of molds still sitting at the old factory on IH35 near San Antonio. They're all just racked up and sitting outside....have been for years. Wouldn't know for sure about the one you're looking for though

My neighbor just re-powered his old CVX-20 Glastron/Carlson Ski Machine. It had been a great family ski boat but was getting a little played out. He had been looking at used newer ski boats and decided to just spend some $$ on what they had. It got a new 250 Merc Optimax, all Smartcraft guages, full hydraulic steering and plumbing. What a nice piece that should last them for many more years.

-I'll have to get some pics.

Would love to see that. Have recently seen two of them converted to V-drive. One for the Parker 300 race.
I had one but it was a beater.

I had a 79 Carlson SSV151 (15.5 ft) with an 1985 Merc stack 6 150. Same hull, different top as the CVXs and CVZs. That thing would literally FLY! I really wanted a CVZ 20 (open bow), but they were rare even back then. I always loved the look of the Carlsons. I bet a custom marine shop could buy the molds and make a decent wage in custom orders!

I just purchased a bright yellow 1964 Glastron Futura earlier this summer to restomod. It was sitting in a warehouse for the past 18 years and had about a 1/2" of dust on it. Needs a bunch of work but as soon as I can stop working on other peoples boats ill get crackin! Ill post pics when I get home, its a real attention getter.

There is a very rare, excellent condition CV 27 twin I/O for sale on Screamandfly. Only seen one in person.

Not sure why I can't find it but Glastron came out with a throwback commemorative boat for '12 to highlight the old CV series.
