Had to change out the electric fuel pump in the boat this week because mine took a crap half way thru its second season (thank goodness for warranty). Went to the lake today after work to run it and make sure all is good for my family vacation at another lake next week. When I was taking out at the ramp to head home the guy that owns the local boat shop pulled in with a customers boat to put it in. His nephew is my best friend so needless to say I know this guy pretty good, he gives me killer deals on all my parts. Anyway, he was asking if the new pump cured it and I was telling him it was good to go and started talking about how he is impressed with what I've learned by working on my own boat and offered to take me to mercury tech school with him in January. All expenses paid by him for the whole week. I'm used to working on old carb stuff so I'm pretty pumped about getting to go see all the new technology first hand, plus it will help with with the boating withdrawal in the dead of winter

Sorry for the long preface, just thought I'd share my story with you guys, I thought it was a pretty sweet offer and can't wait to go!!

Hell, I'm far from a tech. He just wants somebody to party with in the evenings and knows I like to tinker with boats, so it's a win win. I'll stick to selling tools for a living and use what i take from the classes to try and help my buddy's with their stuff. Might even be able to contribute some useful info on here when I get done , lol
