Default Holley 950 pouring gas out sight holes can't seem to adjust

I have a gen 4 bbc .40 over roller cam 177 blower holley blue electric fuel pump regulator set at 6 psi. I cannot stop the gas from draining out the sight hole. Replaced the needle still leaks fuel ... Any ideas on how to fix this problem. Loads up and stalls the motor

Thank for the help

Steve

Take the needle and seat assembly out and clean it with some brake clean, then try it again. It probably has some "junk" caught in it ?? It only tales a little bit to hang them open. There really is not much else that can cause the problem you are having unless your fuel pressure gauge is wrong and you have way too much fuel pressure ?

Is the float level correct, if not it will pour out also, that is what they are there for to set the float level.

I see you replaced the needle &seat. I also assume you adjusted the float. I have seen fuel psi gauges be off a couple psi. Try another liquid filled gauge, and be sure you dont have too much fuel psi. You should be able to run 7psi with a stock needle and seat.

Tap on the regulator and see if the psi needle moves. Had more then one reg that would not set to the number I thought it was set at by just the adjustment screw without tapping on the reg body.

Default 950 carbs

Ok I took them apart tonight. The carb that kept loading up had 96s jets in the rear and 86s in the front. The good running motor had 80s in all four jets

So now I'm confused. We're dominfind the stock jets sizes and the stock power valve sizes.

Thanks steve

The jet sizes wont cause the issue of the carb overfilling with fuel.

Is this a merc engine or custom? If a custom build, need to know the carb list numbers to get stock jet sizes. But thats really not going to tell you much, other than what the carb came with, and not what the engine needs.

Jetting has nothing to with idle or your issue. It does sound like its a different issue though.

I guess my first question is..... do you know how to adjust the needle seat assemblies that control the float levels?????

If it's just one float bowl, my guess would be a bad float. Are they metal or plastic?
