Default Mercruiser 4.3lx hp

Hi, I have a 94 4.3lx with a 4 barrel carb. Its been bugging me how much hp it has but i cant find a clear answer anywhere. I know there was different models also like mpi and something like tsk, I think im missing one also. What do the different models have? I also read about the vortec engine. Now mine says vortec on the valve covers but did they use the same valve covers for all the models? Thanks!

4.3 TKS (turn key start = carburetor with IAC and electric fuel pump) = 190 hp
4.3 MPI = 220 hp

Thanks for clearing that up, IAC stands for idle air control right? I know for automotive thats what it stands for anyways lol. The fuel pump is the silver cylinder in the front of the engine right after the fuel/water separator right? Thanks again

ps. where is the iac located?

Merc V-6 - 1994 Merc with 4bbl carb = 180hp.
1997 Merc 2 bbl carb Vortec = 190 hp
2004 merc 2bbl carb with TKS turn key start =190hp
2004 is when TKS started for Merc with carbs.

also 1991 V-6 4bbl carb =175hp
1991 two bbl carb =155 hp

carb motors have no IAC - Idle air control valve. I think he meant TKS

I have all the mercruiser brochures from 1984 to current for the engine specs.

1994 4 bbl 205 hp at the crank / 180 hp at the prop - V-6 LX

1997 and maybe a couple of years I think Merc offered a 4 bbl carb was 205 hp at the prop but the carb 2 bbl from 97 on was 190 hp at the prop .

The TKS carb unit - that part in the carb is call a solenoid / module enrichment valve - again no IAC's in carb motors. FYI

Ok, maybe not called an IAC, but it acts like one.
