29 outlaw with 7.4's

I agree with Liquid Asset.
There is a guy on Lake Norman that has a 1999 model with 7.4's and 65 is the best he has ever got out of it. He loves the boat, bought it used at a steal and it handles rough conditions very well.
I never have understood why the 29's weren't faster. They are a great looking boat.

My dad has a '97 with carberated 7.4s. We've seen 70 on the GPS under ideal conditions. Now that he's had it a few years it has a few dings in the props. Saw it do 67 with all their crap in it on glassy smooth water a while back. That was with about 80 gal. of gas. Only mods to the motors are Holley flame arresters. They were on there when he got the boat so I don't know if they make a difference or not.
