Default mirage 23 plus help

I have an 88 baja with a bravo 1 and was running a 19 pitch quicksilver. I came across a pretty good deal on a 23 pitch mirage plus from a mid nineties baja which looks to have never been used. This prop has baja performance boats etched into the side and is different from the other prop. How can I tell if its solid hub vs rubber hub? How can I tell if its good to go on the boat? I mean it fits but has a very small gap between drive and prop and doesnt have a large internal hub that runs the length of the hub only one that is 3 inches or so. Any help appreciated

What makes you think you can turn the 23 if your running a 19 now? The mirage plus is a larger diameter and has more cup too. You will likely loose 800-1000 rpms by switching.

I've got a 454 that has been rebuilt to a 468 with some pretty good parts. Different heads, good sized cam, and 850 Holley carb. I think it's pushing between 450-500hp. I don't know for sure what the wot rpms would be cause I'm kinda scared to rev it too high and I've already spun one prop. I think with the 19 pitch it will rev past 5000 and that scares me so that's another reason I'm trying to drop the rpms a little and hopefully get a higher cruising speed.

its most likely a solid hub,,does the inside of the hub have a twist to it?..put it on and see what happens,,use vary little tab with this prop, when you get the boat on plane trim it high on the gauge to where it almost slips then ease into the throttle..thease props on baja's like a little slip..going from your prop to this one you most likely loose like 5-600 rpm's..

If your HP numbers are accurate then that prop might work well. What drive do you have, Bravo1? If so the Mirage + will work fine.

It is a bravo 1 drive and I guess I'll try it out this wknd. Still not sure if it's solid hub but thinking its not. If not could I buy the solid hub kit and convert it if possible?

^^^ Yep no shame in testing out different props...

I also have a 265 that came with a 19p. Only mine has been repowered with a 502 EFI. Food for thought, here is what mine did . With the 19p I could get 52 mph and could rev over 5000. I also got a 23p baja prop from a buddy. With it I get 56-57 mph but can only spin 44-4600 rpms depending on water/load.

What hp are you pushing? 415? Im fine with running 4600-4800 rpms cause I feel more safe there. Don't like or wanna run over 5000. Thanks for the input
