What is the best way to not get the bow scuffed during transport?

Right now ive got a rubber v block stop just below the bow eye.
Transom straps pulling forward, and a chain & binder on the bow pulling backwards.

The rubber v block destroys the paint & stickers during transport.

Ideas ?

Can you eliminate the v block and put on a urethane roller? My set up has 2 rollers and they seem to work well.

I just made this by buying the rubber blocks from Myco. They are $45 each and I split 5" square tubing instead of using channel at suggested because it fit better.

they come if many sizes, the 7-8 fit mine perfect and never even think about coming off. No wear, just perfect.

Thanks for that. I just ordered a set to try. I usually shoot the blocks with some aerosol spray polish just before I retrieve the boat.

Get yourself one of those fluffy hand mits for washing cars and slip it over the stop. Never an issue again.

But a word of advice: if you have the opportunity, cut the outer section of that channel off the outboard side of those blocks. You don't need it there to hold the blocks in, and it will do a terrible amount of damage if you miss the bow stop coming on the trailer. Notice in the picture I linked above, Loadmaster does not even mount the blocks in a channel.

The previous owner of my trailer did some damage to his boat at one point when a gust of wind forced him out of the V of the bow stop when loading several years ago, on a steep ramp no less which precluded the V bunks at the front of the trailer from centering the bow as well.


One thing I noticed on Jassby's Myco trailer years ago, was he had a pair of spare tires that acted as guides as well in case the boat got squirrely when loading. I plan to add a second spare tire mount to my trailer soon as well for the same purpose.
