Water coming in my rear vents

I just recently bought a used Essex Valor. When I slow down the wake comes over the swim platform and pours right in the rear vents. This happens with just 2 people in the boat. I can ride the wake out a little more but it doesn't seem right to me. Is there a check valve or baffle out there I can put behind the vents? I may just block those vents off and move my vent location to the top of the swim deck but I can't find a decent looking vent that mounts on a top surface. Any suggestions?

You should post this in the Fountain forum
Just kidding. I always juice it a little after I come off plane. I don't have vent issues, but do it to prevent reversion.

Too many moons ago I water tested a boat that would do that. The trick the owner showed me was to make a turn just as the water was approaching the back of the boat while slowing. That way the water went to the side and not on the back of the boat. We didn't buy the boat, but that was not the only reason.
