Question Worlds 2002 - Key West - APBA

My vacation time is already set aside for the Worlds this year. Could anyone recommend places to stay or know what stretch of beach the race will take place near this year. APBA isn't much help...besides they just want you to stay at the host hotel and pay that extra $$$. Your input is aprreciated.

From what I understand, the Navy does not control the Mole Pier any longer, as a result, the old race site cannot be guaranteed for the Worlds, therefore JC (SBI) chose to move the worlds to New Orleans, this is probably the question haunting MA (APBA) or maybe it isn't
Lots of reasonable hotels on both North and South Roosevelt Blvd. (under $100/night). e-mail me if you like, I will give you details.

Stay at the Palms. Nice small place on White St. Pool, Tiki bar, and you can walk downtown from there.

Steve,

Last year we stayed at the Southernmost Motel. It's on the other end of Duval from downtown. We loved it because, you can get some peace and quiet at night and yet you're only a 15 minute walk from the other(party) end. -- (or a $2.00 cab ride when you shouldn't even be walking anymore )

If I remember correctly, it was like 99.00 for Friday and Saturday and 89.00 every other day.

Now, if you want to be right on the race course with a balcony view and all that you can try the Galleon or the Hilton -- But, of course, those are for a premium!
