Default 454 oil pan dipstick too short - 1992 Gen V

Can anyone help me find a part number for a dipstick and tube assembly? The dealership, Summit, and autoparts store can't seem to find the long dipstick to go to the bottom of the pan for an 8" deep pan. They all continue to provide me with a short indicator which only reaches to the baffle plate. Your help is appreciated.

I've gone through the dipstick nightmare many times. Your best bet it to get a stick for a van (real long) and cut your own. Either that or start hitting the junkyards.

Thanks for the reply. I assumed something of the sort. What about the dipstick tube? My Mr. Gasket "replacement" tube doesn't seem to fit very well in the oil pan receiver. It seems a bit loose and no real method of sealing.

One of the first things I look for and save from any damage when buying a motor is the dip stick. To much of a pain in the a$$ to get a new one.
As for the tube your choices are to either to keep looking or use a little RTV around the end and find a way to bolt the top end to the motor.
Or...if you move quick I found this for you.

Thanks for the info. I will call the seller tomorrow and have him measure the length between the oil pan interface and the end of the tube and dipstick. If it's ~ 8 inches, I will purchase it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I just called the vendor. They informed me that it was for a shallow oil pan. However, the engine department is pulling a proper one with the snap ring type tube to properly interface with the boss on the side of the pan. Thanks for your help.
