I want to add 2 10" JL audio sub-woofers to my 2004 30 Outlaw. On my last boat i just put them under the rear bench, but on this boat the fiberglass is not as thick, and will def rattle. Any suggestions?

Now for my honest oppinion. I have heard dozens of boats with the JL free air subs. Yes they add bass, yes they are easy to install, yes they are expensive. I highly reccomend using a woofer that uses a box. Many subs out there that will work in small boxes, that are far less expensive and will produce far better sounding bass. Plus have higher output.

I agree, if your gonna use a free air sub I wouldn't spend the money for JL, lots of cheaper options. If you want to build a "Box" for your sub(s) it's not that hard to do, in which case JL make a probably one of the best subs out there (critical mass are number 1 IMO)
A good compromise would be the Polk Audio marine series subs, they work and look great, but, are quite a bit less than JL 's

I agree with Michael build a box. I have a single mtx sub in a box mounted in the engine compartment on my h2x where a storage area was and it hits a lot harder than my buddies 2 free airs mounted under bench.

Speaking of which, this is a good site I stumbled on that tells you how to wire subs, speakers, build boxes, etc. I have found it pretty helpful in the past

X2. I've used info there to install a few car remote starters.

Even the JL will benifit from a box, they just need a much larger one.
