Default 1981 Scarab "Let ER Rip"

Trying to see if anyone remembers seeing a white 30' scarab around, last registration was 1999, boat was from around the Salem Ct. Area. Sides of the boat had painted on "Let er Rip" I put up a picture of it in the thread.

Yep...do remember the boat. Belonged to a good friend Tommy Engles years ago. Last I saw it, it was sitting outside an abandon building on my way to Newport RI. Was a cool boat in its day. Hope you are able to track it down.

Found the boat in Manchester, it is a shell of its former self i'm sure, no power, transmissions or drives, hull is still in good shape. It will take awhile I'm sure but it seems like it will be worth it in the end. I can't get away from the lines in the older boats. I was told this thing had 502's with TRS.

Last I knew, it had 700 HP 572's in it with TRS drives. The owner had passed away, and the power was taken from the boat and sold. After that, I believe the boat just sat for the past 10 yrs...good to hear its coming back to life!

If anyone has any idea as to which transmissions and ratio to use that would be helpful, not to familiar with TRS set-ups. Boat is probably going to be using 500 hp bigblocks. Drive information would be helpful too. is there anywhere I can get information from wellcraft on the boat?

My other option I guess would be to find some older boats complete with blown engines.

It would be a borge warner and they are 1:1 ratio. There are a few for sale in the swap shop I think. I don't think it sold if you look some one was selling 2 entire set ups with drives, tranny's, and gimbles with rams for a decent price.
