Default Picked new to me 24x7 today! Couple engine/drive questions...

Picked up a 91 Sunsation Rocket today with a full roller 454ci, built to 500hp, motor today!! Came with a Bravo 1 and I asked him about the oils he uses in the motor and drive...

He said in the drive its just the standard Merc gear oil... Considering changing to Amsoil/Redline, any recommendations or stick with the Merc?

As far as the engine he wasnt sure what weight or brand as the marina he kept it at changed the oil... If I had to guess, they were probably just changing it with normal Merc or Sierra(this is the brand filter he used) oil. What brand/weight should I be using in a full roller motor making this kind of power?

Also can anyone suggest a good flush kit for this motor that I could grab at West Marine or Merc Dealer?

Thanks in advance!!

Check out the bravo shops gear and motor oil, it is awesome stuff and priced right. Lots of great reviews, there are some threads about it on here you could read, or go to the bravo shops web sit.
