Default 196 ess

Well hello, I'm new to the forum. My mothers boyfriends borther passes away and left a 91' Baja 196 ESS. They knew I was looking for a boat for my cabin on the lake. So they offered it to me. They started with a price of 5g, I didn't want to spend a ton since this boat will be used for a couple seasons than probably sold for something better. I knew it was sitting for a year or so and they had nobody intrested. I put in a offer of 2grand. And Bam picking it up next weekend.

I will get you guys picture sometime this week.
It has the yamaha 5.8 on it. Does anybody know if this boat came with any different motors stock? I would like a mercury motor if possible( I am a engineering intern at mercury racing )

That's what I have been told. Main reason why im looking for a different motor. Does anybody know if the mercrusier magnum alpha one from the 196 sport is a direct drop in?

I don't think it was a bad deal for $2000 including trailer

no pics of motor, kind of embarrassed of the yamaha 350, would much rather have the mercruiser

going to clean it up this winter and hopefully next summer get to enjoy it a ton, with the 24 gallon tank hopefully I'm not filling up every 10 minutes
