Anyone ever ship a hydro hoist before? what did you use any recommendations?

No. It's mostly assembled. I left the arms and torsion bars off do to over width, then finished the assembly at marina.

can't really be shipped by regular shipper I guess... getting it with our own trailer is probably the only easy way to go... I guess...

How big is it? as long as you disassemble it enough to fit on a trailer (boat or flat bed) you should be able to trailer it. Just make sure it is not more than 8" wide when loaded. How far do you need to move it?

I've moved a few of them........all type B side tie style and disassembled. Regular boat trailer with some 4x4's spanning across the main frame rails to support the pontoons works fine. Moved a 9000 lb from Chicago to New England in a 24 ft enclosed car trailer........that was a mistake. Also fabricated some plywood and 2x4 cradles that fit around the big pontoons. Moved the same 9000 lb on a 16ft open car trailer the second time.........much easier.
