anyone have experience with corsa mufflers?
I feel i may of lost 3 mph but ever since i put them in the lakes been like glass so i could have severe drag instead
Also would removing the one baffle inside make them a bit louder or flow better?

I have the same exact tips on my boat, and I have wondered the same thing. However, my friend who I got them from had them on his Powerquest that was factory equipped with them behind a Merc 450 HP blue motor. He replaced them with a set of straight tips with no mufflers, and said he did not get any speed with the change - just more noise, which is what he was after. His boat had Gils on it - mine has Lightnings. My main concern with the tips is if they can induce any reversion from the back pressure. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I have a 572 in mine and running gills. Id like to know if its safe to remove the baffle in them

If they are like mine, they should have the internal flappers, so it probably won't hurt to remove the front baffle, at least as far as water backflowing from wakes. Probably make them much louder, though. Let me know how it works out. I wish there was a way to make mine switchable.

there is no internal flapper in these just an internal plate that is bolted inside to the plate you can see in the tip

Mine have the internal flapper and a rubber Salisbury flapper externally. I removed the internal baffle plates but left the internal coil which wraps around the inside diameter of the shell. I picked up 200 rpm and 2mph with a 383 in a 22' Powerquest. It is louder, but not too bad. My wife and I can still hold a conversation. It wasn't even bad being pulled on a tube behind the boat.
I will warn you, it is an absolute bear to take the baffles out. Hole saw and plasma torch!

Ok thanks for the info. I think ill take the baffle plate out of mine this weekend Ill try some back to back runs and see if there is a difference

Mine actually looks like they have a nut holding the rear most baffle in place. I don't recall seeing any internal coil - by that I am assuming you mean the "swirl" metal piece that looks like a corkscrew. I used to have an old pair of Gil muffled tips that had one of these in it.

Gil / Corsa made a set of muffled tips that had an air actuated flapper in the end of it. When closed it sent the exhaust through the muffled portion of the tip. I was wondering how effective these tips are. Anyone running them? The idea of being able to switch to full time straight thru exhaust appeals to me. I was thinking about trying to fabricate a set of switchable turn-downs from an old set of air actuated Shotgun style mufflers, but I'm not sure if I will like the look of all of that exhaust tubing hanging off the back of my boat.

I just seen similar corsa's on ebay they say for up to 600hp. im wondering if removing that internal plate would free them up for above 600 hp. I think i will go back to my straight tips for the rest of the year and see what i can figure or find this winter
