Default Outdrive Locks - What & Where?

There have been a lot of lower units stolen in the Lake Norman area lately. A friend lost one on a single Baja just last weekend.

I have the Bravo XZ drives and want to protect them.

What are you guys using?

Where is the best place to buy them?

Thanks Mark

West Marine sells drive locks. They replace one nut on each drive, and you need a key similar to a wheel lock to remove them.

If you do install them, make sure to notify your insurance company. The premium credit most companies give will pay for them.......

Jennifer,

Thanks, I had looked at the permalock. The only problem with it is that it is PERMANENT.

They do not use a key and take around 30-45 minutes with a diamond wheel to remove. This is the ticket, but it would be a real pain if you had a problem.

The McGard units are really cheap and easy to break into. I hope to find something in the middle.

I saw Sy Goldberg in one of the magazines not long ago. I think he was advertising the SternLock.com unit.

Thanks everyone.
Mark

If anyone calls them, find out why their web site is down. I'm curious. Either someone screwed up, or they're in redesign.
