I am helping a friend start his boat. It will only run if we prime thru flame arrestor.it is a 2005 525 efi Checked easy things (water fuel separator)- i am thinking there may be a relay for electric pump? where would it be? please help us thank you

There is a relay bank on the back of the motor,,,,it is on there

is there a actual fuse somewhere? i believe 496 motors have a actual fuse-does the 525 motor have one? also does that contro electric fuel pump? thanks

Its has a bosch relay that controls the fuel pump......I have even seen those marked for application,,,,,but just unplug one by one and cycle the key until the pump does not run

Just reread your first post,,,,,do you not hear the fuel pump at all????

this boat 05 Formula had a slight harness fire from mercruiser macathod or drive pump-we can run it w/fuel sprayed into flame arrestor-but will not run on its own-i do not hear the pump- also the fire suppression went off -is that tied into fuel supply in order to cut fuel to motors?

Check the tether as well, mine is wired to my tether, engine will crank and fire with tether but no fuel.

I think you might be on to something with the fire supression, makes sense. Why did it go off in the first place though?

Formula should be able to supply you with their wiring diagram, the merc one is available online. Link the two together.
