Hello,
I have a Sea Ray with a stock 7.4l Mercruiser which i believe may be in need of a new set of exhaust manifolds and 4" risers. The boat is closed cooling so coolant circulates through the exhaust manifolds and raw water exits through the risers. Although i haven't confirmed yet, i believe the water jackets in the manifolds may be leaking and dumping coolant into the exhaust because I'm getting steam at startup that smells like coolant.
Anyways, I'm on a tight budget and have seen how expensive the OEM Mercruiser replacement manifolds/risers are. I know that a few companies (GLM and others) sell aftermarket manifolds/risers for had the cost but I've heard missed reviews on their quality. Can anyone comment who has had experience.
Another option is to go the used route if i can find a set in good condition for a reasonable price.
Thanks for your time.
