Hey folks
I'm in need of some custom risers made or remade.
I figure that I will use 496 exhaust being the risers are made of Stainless steel tube and also has a dry joint. I'm not looking to dump a ton of money into the deal being the motors nothing really special but something has to be done.
Here are some pictures I snatched off of eBay of the risers in question. As you can see they are just SS tube and are dry jointed so you wouldn't have to worry about water passages. In my backyard mind it would seem easiest to just cut the flange off the original riser, add 12 or the 9 inches (front and back motors are different heights) needed and put the flange back on. It would have to be cheaper then the spacers that go for 500 a set and i need 4 sets.
And to be honest (and if you ever saw what old Stainless Marine manifolds looked like) it wouldn't matter what they looked like in the end being they will be painted black. Chopped up and put back together like Frankenstein is good as long as they didn't leak into the motor.
So who thinks they can make these risers taller?
