Default Notched Transome

Does a notched transom make a difference on a straight V.
Also do any 33 Powerplay's have them?
Thanks

It allows for a raised drive height - which lessens drag. Fountain used them for years even before steps.

Raised height, cleaner water, less drag. Powerplays came with and without a notch.

Would an extension box have the same effect as a notched transom?

Sort of - if you raise the drive(s) too. An extension box has the added benefit of more leverage to lift the bow.
