So i have a HP500 carbed engine, been looking at superchargers but don't wanna go through the hatch (i know, i know, procharger, but bare with me) so was looking to convert to efi to stay below it. As i was looking at the efi superchargers i was like WTF, where is the throttle body? Found a pick of the rear and noticed that is where the butterflies are, is that where the fuel is mixed in also? or does the intake have injector ports for direct injection? So after looking at as many pictures as i could long and hard i am assuming if you were to put a 500 efi whipple kit on you would not use the stock intake or throttle body??? So how much of a pain in the a$$ is it to put the efi supercharger kit on a carbed motor?

I have a stage 3 whipple setup that should bolt on that engine if it has a serpentine belt. If not you would have to convert to one. you can use the stock ignition but you will need an efi computor & wiring harness. The kit comes with an electric fuel pump, teague fuel filter, all hoses, etc, also a thru hull pickup for the intercooler, instructions. Not a major pain to bolt together but tuning could be an issue. there are plenty of people on OSO that can help with that, I talked to Haxby Speed about it & he says the Holley efi system works great & is self tuning to boot. You would also need a hego sensor mounted in the exhaust. Randy

The intake will need to be replaced with any roots style blower, how else would you mount blower to the engine?
The "procharger" style uses the stock intake in most cases, and uses a helmet to cover and carb and blow through.
IMO if you want to convert this to EFI find used 500 EFI take off parts to start. The Whipple charger uses a lot of the stock hardware, plus a modifed PCM and those parts could become very expensive if you have to buy them new one at a time.
Don't be afraid to call Dustin at Whipple, he is very helpful even if you are on a budget. Ultimately he will get you the best most reliable answers for your application. Many use him for PCM management when using blowers that are not even whipple!
Good luck

Since your engine is an older 500 you may as noted have to upgrade your accessory drive system.
Again you will have to have wiring harness, ECU, and Distributor not to mention adequate EFI fuel delivery system upgrade.
