Refinishing TRS drives

I plan to pull my drives and refinish them this winter..I have read of guys using epoxy body filler to get a smooth finish on the drives..mine are pitted pretty bad and in much need of TLC..anyone done this before? Suggest eithe rproducts to use or a place that will refinish them for me in Cleveland Sandusky area for a decent price?

you want to get a product called all metal,,you can get it at a body shop supply..have them order a fresh can,it only has a 6 month shelf life..open the can and check it before you buy,it should be soft like bondo..it sands real easy and feathers back real nice..then after you finish sanding the drive down prime the areas with ppg dp 90,,give it several coats wait a week for it to cure then wet sant with 400,,reprime the whole drive this time and let it sit 24 hours then i like to give it a wuick scuff or if you see scratch marks wet sant again then one one more quick coat of dp 90 thinned with laquer thinner, let it sit for a hour then bury it in imron jet black..4 coats works good and will last for years..remember its only as good as the materale used..if you use cheap primer and paint it wont last..

if you dont think you can handle them contact glass dave on here..

just don't be too aggressive on the bare metal of the drive cases. they ain't real thick in the first place and are pitted thinner now. and if they start to leak, you are shopping for OTHER 25 to 35 year old cases.

Mine were pitted bad and I sanded and sandblasted the s#it out of them. But I guess be careful.
