Default Outboard Ocean Pacers

I've heard mention of outboard-powered Ocean Pacers, but does anyone have a photo of one? Do they have the extra-long cockpit like 30CTSutphen's 31' has? Any idea what one would run with triple 2.4 200s? I ask because 2.4 200s have become dirt cheap and although you'd burn a lot of fuel, it might be a lot cheaper than updating a TRS boat.

Jeff, glad to see you back on the forums. At least we can both
talk about outboards now. With the price of fuel going up, the
2.4's are going to be more expensive to run than the inboard
ever was. George

Hmm. If three 2.4s burn about 60 gph at WOT, how much more fuel could they burn than the pair of 500s you'd need to get an Ocean Pacer to the low 80s? Besides, I'd think you could be into an outboard conversion for $7000 or thereabouts. You'd spend more than that for one BBC. Am I wrong?

Your probably right with your figures. I was comparing my 20'
Super Pacer w/ 350 Chevy (formerly Jeff's boat) with my 24'
Banana w/ twin 200 Black Max's. The Sutphen got incredible
gph.....not going to be so lucky with the Merc's. Just testing the
engines for about 5 minutes, 1 gallon gone per engine. Wide
open throttle....THIRSTY!!!!

Black Max's aren't exactly efficient.
