Default Bottom paint removal & gel coat repair (pics)

I just picked up a '97 Baja hammer that had bottom paint from '98. The previous owner started to take it off now this is what I'm left with. Whats my best bet to remove it completely? Also what should i use to patch the small holes in the gel coat? Thanks!

You could get it blasted, but it seems theres not much left so it might be better from a financial standpoint to just chemically strip/sand whats left.

Yea, i agree it may be to far along to blast. Blasting adds a bunch of work on its own anyway. I would first try easy off oven cleaner. Let it soak then try a green pot scrubber type scotchbrite. That should get a good part of it off, from there maybe a thinner soaked rag to cut the light stuff.

Did you ever end up removing the rest of that bottom paint?

If so what did you use?

Thinking of removing the bottom paint on my boat as well..
