Go-fast boats from like of Baja, Cigarette, Deep Impact, Nor-Tech and even Skater, are expected to take center stage at the 53rd annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show set for October 25-29.

That Skater will be there (reportedly Skip Braver at Cigarette had a hand in that) is significant, I agree. The Lauderdale show folks needed to do something for high-performance segment and, based on Jason's story, it appears they have.

MTI has been the next slip over from Cig in the past few years but maybe their recent foray into the center console market might be considered a threat to Cig.....hmmm

Wow, Jupe, that's a whole lot of speculation. Are you one of those conspiracy theory guys?
Seeing as Cigarette and MTI are represented by the same dealer in the Midwest—Pier 57—I have a feeling they can coexist next to one another a boat show. Even though MTI does offer one (yet to be completely finished) center console.
Not exactly sure what the Skaternation dealership status is. Last time I spoke with Peter Hledin, Skaternation was still a dealer.

Any of the hotels on the southern end of Laud beach. The W, The Atlantic, Hilton, etc. Bahia Mar is on site at show but isn't the nicest anymore.
Hit me up. Good to put a face with the name.

The boat at the Lake of the Ozarks was a prototype and not the "finished product," so to speak. Here's the lede of Jason Johnson's story from speedonthewater.com
"For any skeptics out there, a ride in the prototype SV42 from Marine Technology Inc. (MTI) proved—at least to me—that the Wentzville, Mo., company has what it takes to build a V-bottom."
As noted in the story, the model at LOTO was used for hull validation. So while the prototype is done, the first fully finished model is not.
