JL anything would be good...the 7.7 are bad ass if you do the layout right...A buddy of mine that does a ton of high end boat stereos said the 7.7 and anythging high quality 6x9 will sound good, the 6x9 gives you a good all around sound..... seperate tweeters of course for high end...

I'm only using the existing four holes that currently have speakers in them and not adding anymore holes anywhere. So, four speakers and no seperate tweeters is going to be it. That's why I want to make the most out of the four that I am going to use.

Have a listen to the Rockford Fosgate 8" Marine Speakers. I have (4) 6" speakers with (2) 12" subs and they sound very good. They tend to be priced on the higher end.

Check out Rockford fosgate m282 s. I have a pair and they sound really good. Going to add 2 more this winter.
