Going to blast and re paint my k plans, what type of paint to use?

imron or ppg's single stage concept.

But you need to prime with ppg dp 90 first..

What about the bottom.? What creates less drag to give more speed? Should you leave it orange peelyor wet sand it smooth with 800 or buff it or what.?

it really does not matter,,drag is drag when the tabs are down..when i paint them i will dp 90 them and wet sand then with 400 then spray them.with imron it goes on like glass and i never get any orange peal..

I shot mine with Concept over epoxy primer.

any surface that is wetted creates drag. Even if the k planes are level with the bottom of the boat for stability. My question is does the orange peel make it less drag or does it make it more drag. Because my stock ones have a lot of orange peel. Why would they make them with orange peel if they created drag that way. Just curious

I would opt to have them powder coated. 10 times more durable then paint. JMO
