just purchased a 25' sxt warlock cat, the mtr is a 565 w/ 850hp. bravo zx drive w/ 1.5 ratio. max rpm 58- 6200. what would be a good prop choice ? estimate mph ??

I have a HTM SR24 cat with a blown 565, I run several boost and prop combos depending on the fuel i run. My 6lb boost combo makes about 960 HP and I run 117 MPH with a custom Propellers 29P 4 blade at 6,050 RPM

Accurate HP to weight ratio as well as hull design will determine the speed you are capable of achieving.
We have more often than not set up Warlock cats with 4 blade props. There are however, many options in the 4 and 5 blade choices. We have a number of options for testing and unlimited modification possibilities as well. Your ultimat goal will help determine the best prop choice.

I know this thread is kind of old however, I'm hoping you can offer me some insight. I just bought an older Warlock 28 SXT in decent shape. A shop is going through the motors and drives for me (there were misc. issues with the carbs, pumps, drive seals, etc., etc.) so I won't have it back for a couple of weeks.

It's got twin carbed 502s (390 hp each?) with 1.5 Bravos turning 25p 3 blade props. Any idea what I can expect with these once the boat is dialed in? You note above that you more often than not set these up with 4 blades. Can you tell me what the advantages are?

4 blade props tend to get on plane easier and stay hooked up better with higher X dimensions. Often we have gotten aggressive with the X dimensions on these hulls so that is why we tend to use 4 blades more often. Better overall performance is the reason for the 4 blade props.

We have had great results with the P-5 X five blade with awesome top end, really great cruise speed and good hole shot. I think a 30-31" pitch turning 6000 rpm will give you 100-110 mph. Your boat may run faster, and if so, you will turn the P-5 X 6200rpm.

Brett, based on what I've read, looks like I should try 24p props if I am heading in that direction - right? Can you Pm me with what you have? Basic SS will work for me. Decent used ones as well. I am assuming counter rotating. Thanks, Rick..
