Anybody have a good source for chev 383 long blocks in the Bay Area? My 272 Formula's motors gave up the ghost. Need this back up and running to watch Americas cup events.......

Anyway, just a bit east is Drew at Boatmasters in Livermore has a wonderful following and i hear is a stand up guy. Talked to him a couple times, and seems to be a straight shooter. He may have some take-outs that may work for you.
There is also Ace marine in Petaluma that i have heard good responses from a few folks.
Goes without saying do your own research with bbb, also the delta lunch bunch on Performance boats.com can also give you some guidance.

If you need really good quality machining, he is a bit slow but stands behind ALL his work from oem to blown alcohol work is Tim Morgan at Morgan Machine and Race in Walnut Creek.
He did the balancing and line boring of a few of my bb's and was super slow, but very happy with final results after some final tweeks.
remember, if your not in any hurry, this guy is cranky but GOOD.

i ordered a engine from thease guy about 3 yrs ago for a friend in calf,,motor is still running strong..make sure you tell them you want matching engines,,crank and rods to be the same mfr..
