Everyone that can attend this meeting that lives in Central Texas needs to go to this meeting.
They are considering selling water to the rice farmers again even though the water levels have not gone up.
KEEP IN MIND ALL THE WATER FOR AUSTIN COMES FROM LAKE TRAVIS so this affects all of you. The amount sold to the rice farmers can drop the lake up to 5ft a month. A lake already 55% empty.. No lake = no water for Austin

CTWC ACTION ALERT UPDATE
Friends, Show up, speak up, and support our LCRA Board members who are fighting for us.
The LCRA Board meetings will be in Fredericksburg on Nov. 13 (Tuesday Water Ops Meeting usually around 2 pm) and Nov. 14 (Wednesday Formal Board Meeting usually around 9 am). BOTH are open to the public and will be held at the Hanger Hotel and Conference Center at the Fredericksburg Airport.
MARK THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDAR and Come to the meeting, and then go Christmas shopping before you head home! Please join us at either meeting or both if your schedule allows. CTWC will be there both days!
Here was the breakdown of where water goes in a normal year when they send the water to the farmers.
evaporation 18%
city of Austin 16%
rice farming 61%
all other users 5%
(this includes freshwater for Matagorda Bay, all other cities, catfish farming, power plants, etc.)
This was fine when they first made the agreements and there were only 500,000 people in the area but now with millions and a drought of record it is no longer sustainable.
