Default mechanics in St. Louis or Western KY

I am looking for a good, honest reputable mechanic/marina in the St. Louis or Western Ky area. Don't them now but want to know who to use when I do need one. I have had nothing but bad luck with the ones I have used in the past.

Question

Have you ever tried Gruninger's Performance Marine in Pontoon Beach, IL....??? They would be my recommendation... However, this question depends greatly upon what type of work we are talking about and on what type of engine/engines???

Have had experience with Mack and Mack in Aurora KY in past, bad expereince and he is now out of business. Recently had expereince with another boat repair shop near KY Lake (intentionally leaving the shop's name blank PM me if you need to know who, also read "knocking in 500EFI" thread for more information on my troubles), bad experience. I am looking at a couple of boats which will not have Mercury Racing motors, just the good old black paint of Mercuiser. Probably 496Mag HO's.

Gruninger's would definitely be my recommendation after reading the 500EFI post... Ask for Clark and tell him Tony told you to call him. Explain to him what you have went through and I am sure he will more than accomodate you...
