Cool videos! The got pretty close on the first straight away. The Qatar boat got flooded with water at the end!!

Could you explain to us a little bit about how the 4 speed works you make reference to?

This gearbox is from Italy (Skema) , Steve shifts (listen to sound) as he reaches rpm. As you can see we have him by a small margin 1-2 his 3-4th is strong... like having 4 different propellor pitches. I'll try and get some technical details for you.


Yeah , they ran up on us close as they pushed to turn 1 (Class 1 intimidation), We didn't want to risk a blow-over so we backed out a bit and set up for a faster turn to gain position back. ..... in response...I gave Qatar the 1 lane (exactly I am required on turn 3...just good racing.

who do the other wakes belong to that are outside of you until you come back into the harbor?

Marc, that's world class side-to-side racing. Unbelievable skill by both teams at those speeds and conditions. Kudos to Team Qatar for giving you such a tight battle into turns 1 & 2. Great move on turn 3.

How does everyone protect the engines from ingesting water (other than staying outta the rooster zone)?

Do you think more teams will start using gearboxes in the future? Cool concept.
