What the positives and negatives on running a five blade on a single 502?
Is the some sort of Hp level you have to be at to run one?

No question is a bad one.

A 5 blade propeller on your hull would not be my first choice. That is because it will ultimately scrape top speed. On the other hand, the 5 blade will offer best planability and cruise speeds with best fuel economy. In the upper mid range and at WOT (wide open throttle) it will slow you down due to drag from the propeller and the stern lift the propeller creates. Of course there is a exception to every rule. If the boat has a ridiculously high drive height and a extremely rearward CG, the 5 blade could be just fine throughout the rpm band.

In most cases, a Labbed correctly Bravo 1 or Hydromotive Quad 4 make the best all around performing propeller.

My father was looking at a 5 blade because it takes him a bit to get on plane with his 24p bravo

I'm going to have him try my bravo 1 24p propane see if there is any improvement. From what I've read labed props get on plane better and quicker...I was told mine was labed by mercury from the previous owner but I am still going to send it to you guys this coming spring once I get all the bottom paint off my boat...hopefully I'll gain some mph
