So I'm going to be replacing some the side panels and my bench seat and would really like to not do this again in the future(Until I sell it)... I know theirs starboard out there but I'm not crazy about the price or the weight of it either. So I saw a few posts on Foamed PVC board and seems to be pretty cheap and sounds like its very durable. Not worried about UV rays considering its going to be covered by upholstery.

Any thoughts on this Stuff?

the pvc board or coosa board works great but you have to glass a strip to staple into as the board won't hold a staple on its own

My whole interior is being redone with starboard. As long as it is supported you won't have any problems. Side panels and backrests are no concern. Benches and seats that have weight in them just need adequate support

ok... so if i do use the starboard then i can just staple into it and dont have too worry about the staples ripping out?

Yes you can staple right to starboard just use stainless staples

I like the expanded PVC foam board. It holds staples fine. It can also be glued or heated and bent. It is much lighter and less expensive than Starboard. A 4x8 3/4 thick is less than $200.

Starboard is great for anything that is exposed, like a step pad or recessed hatch. It is almost impossible to glue, but it holds screws well.

I'll try and post some pics later of the seats I did for my cruiser in the foam board.
