I just installed fresh 502 EFIs (rebuilt long blocks) along with pyrometers. I had tuliped intake valves and a burned piston on the last go around , so I'm a little paranoid.
I am getting EGTs of 960 at 3,400 rpms (slow cruise) to 1,100 at 3,800 (fast cruise) Is this safe for continuous operation? It seems high to me, but I dont know. I am looking for any opinions and experience in this area. I DO NOT want to pull these motors AGAIN!!

Air to fuel ratio is in the low elevens within this rpm range. WOT rpm is 4800 @ 50MPH. I think it is over propped some so I am sending the props in to get 200 or more rpm.

This is a 15,000 lb to 18,000 boat depending on fuel load and the engines are heavily loaded at cruise. The above EGT and AFR is with boat very light
