Default How accurate is Progressives internet insurance quote?

Currently I have Foremost insuring my boat (1980 38' Scarab) and I pay $72.00/ month (875/ year). No tickets or accidents in 20 years . I just did an online quote for progressive and their quote was $334/ year for a choice package. I dont want to waste my time if they wont insure my boat because of its age. Does any one else have an older boat insured with them and how much do you pay?

Way too many stories of claims not being paid or some circumstance where progrssive claims they owe a small percentage of the actual claim. If you use progressive read the policy VERY CAREFULLY. I refuse to consider them due to how they handled a buddies claim and all the stories I've heard (he settled for 80% 2 years after his boat was destroyed by some kids that burnt the storage building down).

I went with progressive on my 86 - 272. Online quote was correct, I think I went with $12k of coverage and a pretty high deductable as I can afford to lose everything on it, was more worried about liability and cleanup if anything happens and it sinks or spills fluids.

I do not remember how much it was, but I think it was under $500 a year. It was cheap enough that I do not think about it.

Is your scarab 377 side by side or staggered?

+1.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Progressive. My brother battled for years on his claim. And other friends have had similar horror stories...

WOW Progressive was the only company that would cover our 89 Formula 223ls. We hit a rock it took out the drive and gimble housing and tour up the gel coat under the boat Progresive paid $12000 for the repairs with in 3 days they showed up and a week later our bout was on its way to the shop. I guess i should be careful now their insuring our 86 311. Is there a better company???

Ive checked around a bit and could'nt find better coverage. I would stick with Foremost, I have it through my Farmers agent, personally I have never had a claim, but if I do I know my agent will go to bat for me. JMO
