496, Gen. 7, engine oil cooler line removal? Safety relief valve in the block?

Hello. From what I have read, there is a pressure relief valve inside the block, in case the engine oil cooler lines stop flowing on a 496. Anyone know a correct way to plug those and deal with the safety valve in the block?

yes it is the same for gen 5 6 and 7 bbc's
under the screw in adapter there is the pressure relief valve for the oil cooler lines. so you have take appropriate size allen and remove the screw on adapter. the the have to hook the relief valve and remove then screw on the adapter then you can plug the oil cooler lines. the other relief valve is just outside of the screw on fitting that is for if the filter gets plugged

You are talking about the oil pressure bypass valve. Before you rip it out, hang on. Why do you want to do this in the first place? You want part number 25013759 as the replacement but I dont think you realize the consequences...
