OPA has both SPEC and BRACKET CLASSES....your Fountain could be run in CLASS 3(MAX 95MPH) or CLASS 4(MAX 85MPH)..hope to see your boat out there in 2013

You dont want to run a boat that tops out at 85 in an 85 mph class...you will lose lol. Rule of thumb is build a boat capeable of 5mph over, so you can tuck it in and still run the number.

I dont know.... I seem to remember some idiot set up a boat to run 84.8 back in 2011 and they won the national and world title...

Yes I realize the rule of thumb in OPA is to take a boats top speed and run it in a class 20-30 mph under that, however, that idiot proved it could be done with the right setup and balance

It was propped down Trent, way different than a boat that with big wheels running loose trying to do it. I didnt say 20mph. I said 5. This is Class 4 not 6
