What do you guys think. I have some sporadic idling before I touch the accelerator. Nothing serious just never done this. I use to clean my Mustang throttle body area all the time but nervous about my trucks MAS.

I have used that same Mass cleaner for a couple of years now at work,,just remember it will not fix a failed Mass sensor its just a cleaner but it does help..

Let me guess, using a K&N air filter?

Ive used that stuff to clean my MAF sensors. Never had any negative things happen. Like it says, don't let anything touch the little fragile elements in there.

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body on it yet? Does it have a IAC valve?

No, just have 300,000 and thought this wouldn't hurt.

And the idle issue is only when the truck is warm and only for a few seconds after I use my remote start.

Going to clean throttle body also. Don't know on the IAC.

Sometimes the edges of the throttle blades get gunked up, and cut off the airflow at idle. Or with a IAC, there is a port that allows air to go thru around the throttle blades, that gets gunked up and blocks airflow....A good cleaning usually fixes the issues...

rookie,mild is dead on,when the tb gets gunked up,it will cause idling problems,if you dont clean it ,it will only get worse,the gm 4.3 l engines are famous for this,il bet if you remove the tb,it is full of crap,a good tb cleaning will also restore fuel mileage.

I think I understand how a dirty IAC can cause a poor idle. I assume the IAC is a plunger type solenoid that controls air flow at low rpm. It had so much carbon build up on it that I assume it was not sealing properly. Also the back side of the throttle plate and inner throttle body had about 0.125" thick of carbon build up on it. Purrs smooth as a kitten, responsive as he// and increased the seat of the pants HP by about 15HP Well worth the $7.99.
