Default 74 Magnum Maltese

After quite a few years of walking by this boat everyday the ugliness has begun. Other than the exhaust and drive cut outs there was 179 holes in the transom. Had to drill 1 more just to make it an even number. More pics to be added as they get taken

Love the old Magnums...what's your plan? Total update or an original restoration?

I would love to see one of those as a sleeper with a pair of blown LS motors. Imagine 1100~1200 horsepower shoving that bullet around!

Sprink, going to do a kind of retro-rod. I have 95% of the hulls original equipment. A pair of small blocks I have had laying around the shop. Freshened up of course. Trying to work out a pair of volvo duo-props for drives. Unfortunately the girl friend likes the Big Cris Craft, so funding for my demise is severly limited.
Micky, I sanded everything with a dewalt orbital and 320 grit. I was amazed the condition of the original gelcoat. Still have to do the little corners and the bottom yet.

Duo Props with stout SBC's will be choice for that boat...I even thought about B3 lowers for mine but can't get there yet in my mind!! What do you figure it weighs dry with twins?...5500~6000?

The boat will be a Bullet.

Looking at that transom makes me cringe! What were all the holes for? Keep up the good work!

Seebold, I sat down for a couple of hours one day and stared at the transom trying to figure the mess out. This is what i managed to come up with. K plane mounts with hoses that went up to merc thru hull fittings, dual ram hydraulic steering mounts plus 2 hoses on each side, custom hydraulic trim cylinders on each side of the drives, hoses go up to merc thru hull fittings, indicator cables for tabs and possibly both drives, 1 stern eye on each side, strap for lifting ring in the center, crap load of stupid holes I think to try and dry/drain the transom. Oh, 2 water pick ups. I am planning on a much cleaner transom.
