I am looking at a Cert Pre Owned 2010 Audi A4 for my wife as a new (to her) daily driver. It currently has 24k for mileage and it comes with the CPO warranty until 3/24/16 or 100k.

I have heard everyone say never own a German car without a warranty, should I plan on dumping the car by 3/24/2016 or is there a cost effective warranty for after 100k?

You won't get hurt bad in an A4 out of warranty and the same goes for a BMW 3 series. Usually it is the high line cars that eat your wallet (A8, 750li etc).

I had 2 A6 2.7t's and an A8L. A8 was a fantastic car....

I have a Q7 and the F.i.L has had several A series cars. The latest is an A4/non turbo that he kept instead of turning it in - just liked the car and it never gave him an issue other then replacing a battery (which is normal)!

They are a nice drive!
